Bob,

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree that some examples would be helpful. I have personally found that it is extremely simple to rank highly for terms that get searched 20-30 times per day. These terms can easily be found using the WordTracker tool I mentioned, and it's relatively easy to create content that incorporates those terms.

NOTE: I had to remove the examples. It seems that when I provided examples here, Google dropped my ranking for each site and keyword I listed. I suppose it has something to do with links from this blog, but I'm not sure. But you definitely have to track every change you make when you operate multiple sites. One or two changes, and you can drop several positions on Google overnight. Sometimes, you'll be dropped from the index entirely.

I should point out, though, that simply finding low competition keywords is not the only requirement for getting a top spot in the search engines. You must have some method for visitors and search engines to find you. Unless you have some type of link to the rest of the world, your site is simply an island in the middle ocean of the web. In fact, I'll provide a few tips in my next post.

Reasonably-well articulated explanation of keywords for the new blogger or writer.

If I were new to the topic, I'd especially be interested in examples, i.e. knowing how keywords have worked for you. Great start, though!
